IV-2 Information Accountability Matrix Subview

Version & Date

1.6 See DNDAF Release History

The IV-2 subview is part of the DNDAF Information View.

The Information View-2 (IV-2): Information Accountability Matrix focuses on providing two major capabilities.

  • Firstly, it allows users at all levels to track the information they use for decisions back to the original source systems (within DND/CF) in order to verify its timeliness, accuracy, and quality.
  • Secondly, it identifies the responsibility of Information and Data Stewards, who are accountable to manage the Subject Areas.

The IV-2 is used to identify the accountability of a person/organization who is responsible for a specific category of information or data.

Accountability and responsibility for the management of information is widely distributed across DND/CF. All persons working for the organization are responsible for the effective management of information as it relates to their job duties and sphere of influence. IV-2 is used as a tool to identify the person or position accountable for the stewardship and quality of the information in their custody.

Within DND/CF, Information Management Directive (IMD-100) identifies information management accountability framework.

The Information Accountability Matrix provides the relationships between Subject Area and Information/Data steward and also identifies the Information System, Application and System of Record that support the related information or data.

Detailed Description

Information Accountability Matrix defines the information accountability elements and relevant attributes to the Information Stewards, Data Stewards, and Subject Areas. Common information is categorized into the eleven Subject Areas, such as Person, Capability, Finance, Information, Situation, Direction, Location, Organization, Materiel, Action and Realty Asset.
