Comments
Inconsistent - someone has copied the definition of MODAF::View which is completely different (more closely related to NAF::Subview)
NATO Architecture Framework. Version 3. CHAPTER 7 , 7.2.1 General Terminology defined a view
as:
A set of subviews grouped by purpose.
but later on under 7.2.3 NAF Metamodel Terminology defines view
as:
A specification of a way to present an aspect of the architecture. Views are defined with one or more purposes in mind - e.g. showing the logical topology of the enterprise, describing a process model, defining a data model, etc.
so it is both the collection and the individual specification .....
The NAF 3.1 documentation now has both View
= a collection of views and View
= a specification at various places in Chapter 5. Not clear what the product that responds to the specification is called.
As a grouping construct the NAF:View is similar to MODAF Viewpoint and TRAK Perspective.
As a specification construct the NAF:View is similar to MODAF View and TRAK Viewpoint. The term used by ISO/IEC 42010 is Viewpoint
.
